Our Goal

Our goal is to bring back classic World of Warcraft.  We want to go back to a time when level 60 was the cap.  Back to a time when high level PvE gear was usable for PvP, and vice versa.  When classes were more balanced than now, before the restructuring of patch 2.0.  This was a simpler time, a time when the word “Resilience” didn’t mean anything.  There was no Outland, no Northrend, there was only Azeroth.  This was a point where your gear wasn’t made obsolete by a new level cap or new mechanics.  You could learn your class and build your gear set without fear of obsolescence.

In this “World of Warcraft”, arena doesn’t exist.  Unskilled and inexperienced players couldn’t get epics in days, or farm epics with bots.  Instead, it took hard work and a lot of perseverance to earn that gear, sometimes taking months.  When you finally did earn that gear though, you knew you were king of the hill and that it’d last a long time.  You didn’t have to worry about the “next” thing.

You may not know what we’re talking about.  You might be the type of person that joined the party late.  You started with Burning Crusade, so 70 levels seem natural to you.  What better way to experience a whole new side of Warcraft than to experience the old side of Warcraft?  Forgotten 40-man and 20-man raids, still unequalled in skill and originality, providing you with gear you can use in both PvE and PvP.  Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, Onyxia, Ahn'Qiraj, Zul'Gurub and even Naxxramas, arguably the most well designed instance in the game, as it was originally intended, not scaled and tweaked to suit level 70s or 80s.

The creators of this site have stopped playing World of Warcraft.  We reached 70, got the gear, then became bored and yearned for the golden age, at level 60.  Now that Wrath of the Lich King is here, we find ourselves in a place where gear becomes useless, and the cycle begins again.

What we’re proposing isn’t unheard of.  Dark Age of Camelot, another MMORPG, came out with “Origins” servers, servers that were a recreation of the game before the various expansions were released.  Dark Age of Camelot had 7 expansions.  How many times do you want your gear made obsolete before that happens?
